PMI-AGC Kuwait conducted a five day training workshop on Project Risk Management. Held from May 15, 2011 till May 19, 2011 at Holiday Inn, Salmiya, the workshop also helped to prepare the attendees for PMI-RMP certification exam.
The hands-on and highly interactive workshop was attended by fourteen participants from the Oil & Gas, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Professional Services sectors.
The workshop focused on project risk management; which included development of culture, processes and structures geared towards effective management of potential opportunities and adverse effects. The participants learned setting priorities, allocating resources, and responding with different strategies and processes in order to reduce the risk of the project not achieving its objectives.
The workshop was delivered by Mr. Osama Bakir, who has more than twenty years of experience in diversified management positions. Mr. Osama has gained strong skills and expertise in managing large scale projects and programs by implementing processes and procedures according to the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards. He is an experienced program management consultant, certified project management professional, talented and highly accomplished information technology professional, with extensive background in Project Management consistently supporting organizational strategic plans, goals and objectives, business process engineering, and policies development. Mr. Osama has been working in several countries, namely USA, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Canada, United Arab Emirates, and Sultanate of Oman.
It is worth noting that PMI-AGC Kuwait arranges training workshops for the benefit of its members and project management community. During 2011, it plans to hold training workshops on PMO Setup, Value Engineering and Project Scheduling.
